AEDM Update

I can't believe it's been a little over a week since the last AEDM and NaNoJoumo update. I'm not ready to post any images. Maybe, that'll be an event for Thanksgiving. I've just finished two works for a Small Works Exhibition and I'm pooped. Guess I'll go doodle away to relax my mind.

AEDM/NaNoJoumo Days 8-14

I've missed some days, but I have made up in different ways for AEDM and NaNoJoumo.  Here's what I have from Days 8-14 that could fit on the scanner. Two of my pieces were too big. You'll have to wait till I get batteries for my camera to see those (Virtue and Forge). And as last roundup, all of my cues were from Dawn at D'blogala.

Day 14 Creation- PORTRAY
Who shall I portray myself to be today?
Have you ever felt the need to put on a different face for a different crowd?

Day 13 Creation -MYSTIQUE
What lies within the forest?

Day 13 Creation #2- ESSENCE was the word for Day 12, but I was out and about.
Dance freely and smell the essence of life.

Day 11 Creation- REVERIE
All the things I daydream about captured in symbols/words:
Love, Peace, Money, Condo with a water and city view, A happy earth

Day 10 Creations -LIBERTY
I took the liberty to modify one of my fractals in various ways.

DAY 9's Creation is absent, but it had a dear message to share.
FORGE
Forge ahead my dear soldier! Victory is almost near.

Day 8 Creation- The word for the day was VIRTUE.
Too bad you can't see my virtuous woman.
However, here's my doodle while I was in the coffee shop.

NaNoJoumo & AEDM Days 4-7

Hey Everyone!

Here's the roundup of ink on paper for NaNoJoumo and AEDM. These are from Day 4 up to now. I took my cues from NaNoJoumo to keep me moving.

Day 7 Creation- The word of the day is MOMENT.
I'm in the moment of speaking more lovingly. This list is just a start.

Day 6 Creation- Esoteric is the word and hearts and spirals abound.

Day 5 Creation- I found EQUANIMITY to come right on time.
I feel more balanced now. Thank goodness.

Day 4 Creation- The word of the day was QUARTER.
I thought, "Wouldn't it be cool if quarters got another makeover?
Let's have pretty pictures and illustrated faces on them."

AEDM and NaNoJoumo

I didn't get around to posting last night, so here are my creations for AEDM and NaNoJoumo from the past three days. I haven't done anything for Day 4, so you'll have to wait till tomorrow for that piece.

Day 3 Creation
"Good Day"-This really how I was feeling yesterday, full of bounce and life.

Day 2 Creation #2 -The colors were orange and turquoise.
I don't know why it looks brown and pale blue.
The message is "Regardles of whether or not you think you are
experiencing hell or heaven, God is ALWAYS around.
He travels along the journey with you."

Day 2 Creation #1- The message is "Shine your light in the midst of darkness".

Day 1 Creation- It's quite literal.
I was writing by candlelight when this came to mind.

In the dark
waiting for light
Just about to come
in a few hours.
How long can I wait?
Be patient my dear
the Lord has said to me.
I will Father.

Art Everywhere This Month

November is a special time for artists. Currently, I'm participating in a few projects which some of you may be partaking in as well. I've committed myself to creating art daily for Art Every Day Month, which is hosted by Leah at Creative Everyday. I'm also putting pen to paper and whatever else comes to mind for NaNoJoumo being hosted over at D'blogala. Whew! Haven't posted pics yet. Maybe, this evening it will happen. Almost forgot to mention that I'm collecting doodles for The Doodle Daily's World Doodle Challenge. Warren says, "Keep them coming!" I will indeed. These projects are just what I need, especially after an art slump.

OMG!

I didn't blog for July 6th. Oh no! Well, I'm not going to punish myself.  I was immersed in a creative project and then I had to work.  I'm creating another art journal.  Yesterday, I prepped some of my pages.  I used one of my old planners.  Sad thing is that I didn't write in it much.  The only part of the planner/now-turned journal that I'm not going to change is the cover.  It has a ladybug on it, and I love ladybugs.  Other than that, this is going to be quite the process for transfroming something old into something new.

Great way to reuse

As mentioned in a previous post, I created my first art journal.  I don't have any entries in it yet, but I'm admiring it for now.  I took a package discard and decided to make use of it.

It began with me just doodling.
I didn't have a real purpose in mind.
But then a light bulb went off.

Shipping Labels!
I decided to put shipping labels on the inside of the now doodled, folded cardbooard contraption.

I have different headings, so my entries will probably fit accordingly.
Now I'm up for repurposing other items around the house.

Getting Back to Bliss

I've been in a funky mood since Sunday.  And I refuse to be in this mood tomorrow.   My energy is way off and I'm getting bad news left and right.  This must and shall cease!

So to get this frustration and angst out of the way, I decided to write and draw as meditative practices.  I'm working on an art journal finally.  Stay tuned for those pics.  I wrote a long entry in one of my other journals which basically allowed me to pour out my soul and all my woes.  This has actually helped relieve some of my burden.  After that, I moved on to create these lovely pieces:

This is a starry night to remind me to go out an wish upon the stars.
Dreams can come true. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

The green and the flowers tell me that I need to get grounded.
I have not been connecting with my higher self. Being planted will sustain me.

Ultimately, I know what's needed to be done.  I am the only one accountable for my bliss.  It shall be done.

Collaborative Art Journal

Several weeks ago, I was in one of my fave places, Barnes and Noble, and I went to my fave section. Of course, that being the Arts/Crafts/Hobbies section. I saw this book by LK Ludwig called Collaborative Art Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media. In it, were great displays of the collaborative art journal. Collaborative art journaling is a great way to blend art, writing, and shared experiences.

After reading through the pages, I decided it may me a great venture for me and my gf/bff Tam. A few days later, I approached Tam about the journaling and she agreed with the idea. Unfortunately, I hadn't given much thought about it since. Well, that was until today. The idea came back to me and Tam and I discussed the purpose for our collaborative art journal. The overarching theme will be about dreaming big and living outside the box. I thought as a perfect theme considering each of us are honing into our talents and gifts, moving toward a larger life than ever imagined, and living life with constraints.

I am really excited about this project. As pages are completed, I will be sure to share some pics. If you would like to do your own collaborative journal, I truly recommend you pick up Collaborative Art Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media.
