WOW Wednesdays! Embracing the Near Win

Hi Lovelies,

How is it going in your neck of the woods? The weather is warming up pretty nicely around these parts and I can only be happy about that. The last time I chatted with you all I was urging you to vote for my design over at By Hand London's Secret Garden Design Competition. Well, I have you know that I didn't win or even make it as a runner up. HOWEVER, I do consider it to be a near win. Though I didn't have enough votes to be considered a winner, I still feel like one. I received so much support and I was thrilled to know that people were rooting for me and my creation. That was the biggest gift I would say. Anyway, the loss or near win is refreshing and energizing. Probably a year ago, I may not have been so cheerful or resilient. Maybe I would have. Who knows? Anyway, I recently watched a TED Talk given by Sarah Lewis on the Near Win. She speaks of the mastery process from those facing near win moments in archery. I am sure this can apply to whatever your craft or field is. So, for this WOW Wednesdays segment, I bring you Sarah Lewis' TED Talk. Tell me in the comments below, what have been your near win moments and how were you able to stay resilient?

Until next time, have a beautifully designed day.

Best,

By Hand London Secret Garden Competition. Cast your vote!

Hi Lovelies,

I hope your day is going swell. I received exciting news today from By Hand London. Last week was the deadline for their first ever fabric design competition, and I entered. Yay for stepping out of my comfort zone. Anywho, Charlotte Hintzen from By Hand London notified me that my design Cherry Blossom has been selected for the shortlist for the Secret Garden competition. Can we say OMG!!!! Aahhhhhh!!! But I digressed. To secure my place as the winner, I need votes. And by votes, I mean I need you to vote. The voting process is quite simple. If you are on Facebook, go to By Hand London's page and comment on the competition's album page for the design you'd like to see on fabric. And by design you'd like to see on fabric, I mean mine the Cherry Blossoms by Darnita. Also, be sure to LIKE the actual picture/design. "LIKE"ing is important. It's essential to my existence. Well, not really but it is important. This pic right here. Look below right now. It's also at the top of this post. Now, if you don't use Facebook, they got you covered sweetheart. Go to By Hand London's website to comment.

Have a lovely day.

Best,
