Blog Reading
I know most blogs have blogrolls, but I don't have one yet. I've been reading so many blogs and then I find more great blogs to read. There are just too many to put into a simple blogroll. I definitely don't have a fave over another. I have found so much inspiration and joy from reading blogs by various artists, doodlers, writers, and other creatives. It's sooooooooooooo wonderful. Okay, bye for now. Back to reading.

When the Light Bulb Comes On
Yesterday, I got a great idea for a poster. The idea was sparked from an affirmation by Shakti Gawain that was "It is okay to have everything I want!" Duh! Well, how come I haven't believed this till now? I used to think that if I had much, it was my duty to ensure everyone else around me had the same. I felt ashamed for wanting more than what I had. I love what I have, but I desire more spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financialy. This is just nonsense to feel shameful. So I'm going to keep wanting what I want and be okay with it. I also vow to be okay with other notions I have about myself and my views on life. Overall, IT'S OKAY! And that's what the poster is geared toward. The light bulb has come on and it's still shining.

Rejection
I've received my first rejection letter from a gallery this weekend. My first submission was to the Art on Paper 2010 exhibition at Weatherspoon Art Museum. It was unfortunate and great to receive the notification of my rejection. They had over 280 submissions, which made me feel extra special that my works were actually reviewed.
Being rejected is apart of life, especially when one is doing something he/she is passionate about. Coincidentally, I found a fortune in my purse this weekend which speaks to this notion.
Isn't that the truth? I know I'm on the right track. This is just the beginning. Alongside rejection is acceptance. Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso were also rejected at times. I know that I'm in good company.

Recycling-Reusing
Since I've been recycling, I've really been paying attention to the amount of recyclables around the house. Yesterday, for instance, I decided to organize the pantry and maximize space. There were a number of cereal boxes and other packages that needed to go. Instead of trashing the boxes, I decided to keep them. They will be used for stenciling purposes. This will not only aid in reducing waste but to help alleviate costs of craft materials. Stay tuned for craft projects.

Watercolor Abstracts
After my block, I decided to venture into some other media. Here are two abstracts created in watercolor.

Stifled
My creativity is stifled right now. It could be due to exhaustion from recent events and activities. My weekend was wonderful and packed; consequently, I think it depleted my energy. I need some creative fuel to get me jumpstarted. Any suggestions?
